Proteas batsman Keegan Petersen’s time with Durham in the English County Championship has ended early.
Petersen has returned to South Africa after six first-class matches for Durham.

“We can confirm that Keegan’s spell with the club has ended earlier than initially planned,” read a statement from Durham.
“The South African international batter has returned home to South Africa for family reasons and will play no further part for Durham this season.
“Keegan was due to play seven County Championship games before joining up with the South Africa squad for their Test series against England later in the summer.”
What Durham director of cricket Marcus North said
“Our thoughts are with Keegan and his family and we fully support his decision to return back to South Africa,” added North.
“We wish him all the best for the future and thank KP for his contributions in a Durham shirt this season.”
