Kent batsman Ben Compton debuted for the Tuskers in division one of South African first-class cricket this month.

Compton hit 25 and 61 in the Tuskers’ 4-Day Domestic Series fixture against the Dolphins at Kingsmead in Durban.The Tuskers lost by an innings and 61 runs.

Compton, who was born in Durban, has also played first-class cricket for Kent and Nottinghamshire in England – and the Mountaineers in Zimbabwe.

Compton is averaging 47.21 after 79 first-class innings – and hit 11 centuries.

He is the grandson of former England Test cricketer Denis Compton – and cousin of former England Test cricketer Nick Compton.
