Former Proteas spinner Aaron Phangiso has been appointed Knights Colts coach.
Phangiso joined the Knights from the Titans last year, but has not been contracted as a player for the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa. He has not formally retired from playing, though.
“Phangiso has been appointed as the Colts coach. He won’t be playing for us this season as he’s fully committed to that coaching role,” Knights head coach JP Triegaardt told OFM.
“I’m very pleased about that. He brings a wealth of experience that will be incredibly valuable at that level. His insights, especially from having played for the Proteas, will benefit the young players as they prepare to step into the professional game.”
Phangiso played 21 ODIs and 16 T20Is from 2012 to 2018 – and recently won the 2025 World Championship of Legends title with South Africa Champions.
