The Knights have appointed spinner Aubrey Swanepoel and batsman Patrick Botha limited-overs and first-class captain, respectively, for the 2023-24 domestic season in South Africa.
Swanepoel and Botha have succeeded former captain Pite van Biljon, who joined the Tuskers in division one after the Knights were relegated to division two.
“Aubrey will definitely be our white-ball captain for the season. Then Patrick will be our red-ball captain for the campaign,” Knights head coach JP Triegaardt told OFM.
“Our pre-season when really well and are just looking forward to getting our first game behind us.
“It’s important for each and every player to make sure that we get our season off on the right foot by winning our first game.”
The Knights have lost several other players this year, including Proteas all-rounder Gerald Coetzee and batsman Raynard van Tonder. Coetzee and van Tonder have joined the Titans and North West, respectively.
The Knights have gained fast bowler Tiaan van Vuuren from the Warriors, among others.
