Former Northern Cape all-rounder Ruan Haasbroek has effectively replaced all-rounder Dian Forrester at the Knights for the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
Forrester has joined North West in division one after the Knights were relegated to division two.
“Where Dian’s headed is clearly a cricketing decision aimed at furthering his career. As coaches, our role is to plant seeds in players and help them grow – but ultimately, it’s up to them to keep watering those seeds and move forward. We wish him all the best,” Knights head coach JP Triegaardt told OFM.

Ruan Haasbroek.
Haasbroek was with Northern Cape for one season after joining from Limpopo. He was Northern Cape’s second-highest run-scorer in the 2024-25 4-Day Domestic Series, division two, and One-Day Cup, division two. He was their third-highest run-scorer in the T20 Knockout.
“I think Haasbroek’s record speaks for itself. Losing Dian to a first division team like North West left a big gap in our batting line-up, and we had to do some serious soul-searching to find the right replacement,” added Triegaardt.
“That’s exactly why we approached Haasbroek. He’s shown his talent across the board – at Limpopo, the Lions and Northern Cape. He’s got grit, character and he never backs down.
“He’s also an experienced guy who has been around the block. We’re all very excited and incredibly grateful that he’s joined us, especially knowing how many franchises were interested in him. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
