“Kreeson is no stranger to the Wanderers community, having been assistant coach for a number of seasons and captain of the second XI,” read a statement from Wanderers Cricket Club.

“He has been a dedicated member of the club for more that 10 years, developing a successful pipeline of players for the premier league squad and beyond.

“Kreeson comes with significant experience, having coached at various levels throughout his career, including grassroots development, school cricket, provincial age group and premier league level in the United Kingdom.”

Naicker was capped nine times at first-class level and six in List A cricket from 2007 to 2009 before moving into coaching.

“He played provincial cricket at the various age group levels for North West. He then attended the Lions Academy, which led to him playing first-class cricket for North West and selection for South Africa Under -19,” added Wanderers Cricket Club.

What Wanderers Cricket Club chairman Frank Auger said

“Kreeson’s application stood out because he had a clear vision on how to take the club forward by building an internal culture and developing a brand of cricket that will excite all members,” added Auger.

“It is also pleasing that, after a rigorous recruitment process, it was one of our own that came to the top.”
