Former Proteas fast bowler Kyle Abbott will play for Boland during South Africa’s 2021-22 domestic season.
Abbott previously played for the Dolphins. He also represented the Titans earlier this year – and is currently with Hampshire in English county cricket.
The talented right-armer played 11 Tests, 28 ODIs and 21 T20Is from 2013 to 2017.
Boland have also recruited brothers Janneman Malan and Pieter Malan – and former Proteas batsman Stiaan van Zyl and fast bowler Hardus Viljoen.
Boland have been placed among the top tier of the country’s new domestic structure, which will return to provincial rather than franchise competition.
“We’re just extremely excited and I really want to thank our fans for their support and playing what we feel was a big role in getting us this status,” said Boland chief executive officer James Fortuin.
“The squad we have assembled is one of exceptional experience. It is also an exciting squad and one that can help us build well beyond the next two years.”
