Middlesex batsman Leus du Plooy debuted for Green Point Cricket Club in Sunday, 22 October’s 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association T20 premier league fixture against Primrose Cricket Club at Rondebosch Cricket Club.
Du Plooy hit 38 from 21 deliveries, including three fours and two sixes, on debut for Green Point Cricket Club.
Du Plooy joined Green Point Cricket Club in 2020. His debut was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic and professional commitments abroad. He recently left Derbyshire for a five-year contract with Middlesex in English county cricket.
Du Plooyed played for Free State, Northerns, South Western Districts and Boland before pursuing a career in the United Kingdom.
“I would love to play for England one day, even though it is not my birth country,” said du Plooy earlier this year.
“It is a country that I have grown to love and I believe that you can love two countries at once. I’m going to try my best to score as many runs as possible at the moment and the rest will take care of itself.”
Proteas opener Tony de Zorzi also played for Green Point Cricket Club.
