The Lions have confirmed the exit of fast bowler Duanne Olivier ahead of the 2024-25 domestic season in South Africa.
Olivier, who has played 16 Tests and two ODIs for South Africa, has joined the Warriors.
“Team man and top bowler, thank you for your contribution over the last few seasons. All the best for your next chapter,” read a statement from the Lions.
Earlier this week, the Lions confirmed fast bowler Sisanda Magala‘s exit as well.
Magala had not played for the Lions since October 2023 and has since joined the Titans.
“A bona fide wicket-taker. You will be missed. Thank you for all the memories and wickets in big moments,” read a statement from the Lions. “All the best in your new chapter, Sisanda.”
Magala has been capped eight times in ODI cricket and six times in T20I competition since debuting for the Proteas in 2021.
“We’re pleased about Sisanda. We’ve offered him a one-year contract with incentives,” Titans chief executive officer Jacques Faul told Rapport.
“He’s an intelligent white-ball cricketer with a good yorker and a good slower ball. We feel he’s underrated.”
