What Lions Cricket services manager Reuben Mandlazi said
“The competition continues to grow from strength to strength and – if the teams’ performances last season are anything to go by – the 2021-22 season promises to be a cracker,” said Mandlazi.
“The ladies from Randburg and men from Old Edwardians will be looking forward to defending their titles.
“Their first assignment will be to bring their ‘A’ game as they navigate through tight pool matches. We look forward to some exciting club cricket.”
What Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright said
“In line with our strategic intent of nurturing and growing pipeline cricket, the club T20 tournaments play a vital role in unearthing talent as a feeder to our provincial teams,” said Leaf-Wright.
“Clubs are an important part of our structures as they not only provide access to talented players, but play a pivotal role in various community off-field activities.
“Our gratitude to our long-time partner Black Widow for their continued support, trust and belief in delivering a competitive product.”
What Black Widow managing director Robbie Fuchs said
“We are honoured and privileged to be part of such a great initiative that keeps growing and promoting our community cricket not only for the men, but also for the women’s cricket that is setting the benchmark for putting themselves on their own map,” said Fuchs.
