Lions include Wanderers Cricket Club star Bianca Booyjens in women’s contracted squad

Wanderers Cricket Club player Bianca Booyjens has been named in the Lions women’s contracted squad for the 2023-24 domestic season in South Africa.

Booyjens was recently named Batter of the Season – and shared the Player of the Season accolade with men’s cricketer Daniel Poulton –  at the Wanderers Cricket Club awards ceremony for the 2022-23 season.

“A warm welcome to Proteas players Chloe Tryon and Sinalo Jafta as well as top club cricket performer Bianca Booyjens and SA Schools Under-19 player Relebohile Mkhize,” read a statement from Lions Cricket.

“We are also thrilled to retain the wonderful skills of contracted Proteas players Ayabonga Khaka and Tumi Sekhukhune, who always add tremendous value to the Lions pride.”
