Spinner Madison Landsman took a hat-trick as South Africa beat Scotland by 44 runs in Monday’s Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup fixture in Benoni.
South Africa Under-19 Women posted a final total of 112 for seven after middle-order batter Kayla Reyneke’s half-century. Reyneke struck 53 in 49 balls, including five fours and a six.
Scotland’s reply fell to 68 all out in 17 overs. Landsman finished with figures of four for 16 in four overs. Her hat-trick came across deliveries two, three and four of the 15th over.
South Africa currently occupy second position in group D of the 16-team tournament. They lost to India Under-19 Women before beating Scotland Under-19 Women.
South Africa will meet United Arab Emirates Under-19 Women in Benoni on Wednesday.
