Seamer Malusi Siboto has returned to the Knights ahead of the 2024-25 domestic season in South Africa.
Siboto left the Lions earlier this year – and has also played for the Titans.
He will play alongside spinner Aaron Phangiso, batsman Lesego Senokwane and Johan van Dyk at the Knights. Phangiso, Senokwane and van Dyk have joined from the Titans, North West and Northern Cape, respectively.
The Knights have been promoted to division one of South African domestic cricket. They have replaced the Tuskers, who have been relegated to division two.
“It is good to back – it brings back a lot of memories. I am looking forward to working with the young guys, who bring a lot of energy,” Siboto told OFM.
“It is good to have experienced heads in the squad such as myself, Aaron and Dane Piedt. This can make it easier when the pressure is on, but we also want guys thinking for themselves and not relying on the senior players too much. There will be a lot of pressure to stay in division one.”
Proteas spinner Piedt will captain the Knights during this season’s T20 Challenge. Their campaign will start against North West at the Mangaung Oval on Saturday, 28 September.
“I know the guys have been working hard upskilling themselves knowing that the first division will bring challenges. But we have full confidence in the team and the combinations we’ve been working through,” added Piedt.
“We had a pretty good pre-season trip to Durban, where all the batters showed good form. It’s now just about knuckling down and getting the best combination for the opening game against the Dragons.”
