Mbulelo Nkomo and other Langa Cricket Club players move to Gugulethu Cricket Club

Batsman Mbulelo Nkomo and several other players have joined Gugulethu Cricket Club from Langa Cricket Club for the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association season.

Gugulethu Cricket Club chairperson Vusumzi Ntoni confirmed the arrivals of Nkomo, Luthando Williams, Mangaliso Mtiya and Thando Mdodana to Club Cricket SA.

Gugulethu Cricket Club, meanwhile, have appointed Labeeb Fortuin head coach. He has effectively succeeded player-coach Mbuyiselo Xakana.

Xakana will remain at the club as a player.

Gugulethu Cricket Club retain WPCA first division A status

Gugulethu Cricket Club will compete in the 2022-23 WPCA first division A.

Their first division A status has been retained despite finishing in last position in 2021-22’s 12-team standings, after 19 defeats, two no-results and one win.
