Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan has returned to the MI Cape Town captaincy ahead of the 2025 SA20.
Khan captained MI Cape Town during the inaugural SA20 in 2023, but was unavailable in 2024. West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard captained MI Cape Town in Khan’s absence earlier this year.
Former New Zealand cricketers Mitchell Mitchell McClenaghan and Kruger van Wyk have joined MI Cape Town’s coaching staff. McClenaghan and van Wyk have been appointed bowling and fielding coach, respectively.
MI Cape Town head coach Robin Peterson and batting coach Hashim Amla have been retained.
MI Cape Town ended in last position at the end of the 2024 and 2023 SA20. They have collected six wins and 14 defeats.
Meanwhile, the Paarl Royals have replaced England seamer John Turner with Sri Lankan seamer Eshan Malinga.
