MI Cape Town have added Afghanistan batsman Sediqullah Atal to the squad for this year’s SA20.
Atal has replaced England all-rounder Ben Stokes in the MI Cape Town. Stokes has been sidelined by injury.
MI Cape Town ended the 2023 and 2024 SA20 in last position. They are captained by Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan. Former Proteas spinner Robin Peterson is their head coach.
Proteas batsman Reeza Hendricks has joined MI Cape Town. He was previously with the Joburg Super Kings.
“I’m thrilled to be here, I’m excited to be in blue. I can’t wait to get stuck in,” said Hendricks.
“It’s nice coming into a new environment with faces you kind of know and guys you’ve played with. That helps fitting in and being part of the squad. So, fitting in and having those guys around makes it a lot easier. It’s good to play with them again. I’ve spent a lot of time domestically playing with them, so hopefully we can do some good things.”
The 2025 SA20 will start this week. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the reigning champions.
