Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada will play for the Cape Town franchise in Cricket South Africa’s new T20 league.
The franchise, recently unveiled as MI Cape Town, have also signed England duo Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran – and Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan.
South Africa Under-19 batsman Dewald Brevis, has also been included in the MI Cape Town squad.
MI Cape Town are owned by Reliance Industries Limited, who also own the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
“I’m excited as we begin our journey in building MI Cape Town. With our direct player signings, we have taken the first step towards building the MI philosophy having a strong core around which the team will be planned,” said Reliance Industries Limited representative Akash Ambani.
“I am glad to welcome Rashid, Kagiso, Liam and Sam – and happy to have Dewald continue with us on this new journey.
“We are certain that MI Cape Town will play the brand of cricket MI is synonymous with playing – fearless cricket. And the same will resonate with the passionate cricket fans of South Africa and across the world.”
