Milnerton Cricket Club name new WPCA first division A captain

Milnerton Cricket Club have appointed seamer Ryan Milne captain for the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association season.

Milne has succeeded former captain Dillon Smit, who will continue to play for Milnerton Cricket Club.

“It is an honour to captain the club and give back to the club where my club cricket journey started,” said Milne.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of helping the club improve on last season.”

Seamer Malcolm Cloete, meanwhile, has returned to Milnerton Cricket Club after another stint with Glamorgan Cricket Club.

“We have a good mix of experienced players, including Malcolm Cloete, Robin van Harte, Matthew Snyman, Justin du Toit and myself,” added Milne.

“The experienced guys can help the younger players such as Dillon, Kyle Peters and Keegan Fortune.

“We want them to grow as club cricketers and eventually take the club up, hopefully back to the WPCA premier league in the future.”
