Fast bowler Tshepo Moreki has returned to Western Province for South Africa’s 2025-26 domestic season.
Moreki left Western Province for the Lions in 2023 – and has since been capped by South Africa in Test cricket. He played six first-class, four T20 and three List A fixtures for the Lions during the 2024-25 season.
“Tshepo needs white-ball cricket, which Western Province could offer him but we could not. He went with our blessing,” said Lions chief executive officer Jono Leaf-Wright.
Western Province have also signed batsman Joshua van Heerden and Jiveshan Pillay from the Titans and Warriors, respectively.
Seamers Wayne Parnell, Wesley Bedja and Onke Nyaku have left Western Province for the Tuskers, Warriors and North West, respectively.
Western Province are hiring a new head coach. Former head coach Salieg Nackerdien resigned earlier this month. Former Proteas cricketers Justin Kemp and Rory Kleinveldt are reportedly among the candidates to succeed Nackerdien.
