Strand Cricket Club have appointed new head coach Shane Fredericks for the 2025-26 Western Province Cricket Association first division D.
Fredericks, who has joined from Helderberg Cricket Club, has succeeded former Strand Cricket Club coach Wayne Cloete.
“With Shane’s expertise and our team’s dedication, we’re ready to take on new challenges and achieve greatness together,” read a statement from Strand Cricket Club.
“Every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Let’s face it head on and come out stronger. New coach, new era. We’re ready to elevate our game.”
Strand Cricket Club ended the 2024-25 WPCA first division A in fourth position. They won 11 and lost seven matches.
Meanwhile, in the WPCA first division C, Hanover Park Cricket Club have signed all-rounder Muzzammil Ariefdien and batsman Zainodien Petersen.
Ariefdien and Petersen previously represented Blue Bells Cricket Club.
“I am delighted to be joining HPCC – a club with a proud and distinguished history. I feel excited to become part of such an esteemed institution,” said Ariefdien.
“I am looking forward to the exciting journey ahead and I am eager to contribute to the club’s ambitions, both on and off the field. I can’t wait to get started and play my part in the team’s success.”
Petersen added: “Excited for the new venture and looking forward to what the season holds for me at my new home at HPCC.”
Hanover Park Cricket Club ended the 2024-25 WPCA first division C in sixth position after seven wins and 11 defeats.
