The Dolphins have appointed all-rounder Eathan Bosch for this season’s One-Day Cup campaign.
Bosch will captain the XI instead of Proteas spinner Keshav Maharaj.
“Taking over the captaincy when Keshav isn’t around is something that the coaching staff and I spoke about for a couple of months and something that I had quite a bit of time to think about,” said Bosch.
“I think head coach Imraan Khan spoke to me at the end of last year about it already. It’s a massive honour to lead the guys in the One-Day Cup.
“Being a captain has never really been something that I thought about until I was asked because my focus has always been on winning games for the Dolphins.
“I felt that I was a leader in my own right in terms of the things that I did on the field, so I feel I’ve moved into a leadership role quite naturally.
“There are going to be a lot of challenges and I have the right support next to me in terms of some of the senior players in the squad.”
The Knights and Western Province, meanwhile, have named all-rounder Aubrey Swanepoel and wicketkeeper-batsman Kyle Verreynne One-Day Cup captain, respectively.
