New head coach at Khayelitsha Cricket Club

Khayelitsha Cricket Club have appointed the talented Bulelani Menze head coach for the 2018-19 Western Province Cricket Association season.

Menze has succeeded former head coach Bulelani Libazi.

“Menze has been with our club for more than 15 years. He started with us as an under-15 cricketer. He knows the style of play required at our club, from the juniors to the seniors,” Khayelitsha Cricket Club representative Linda Khohli told Club Cricket SA.

Khayelitsha Cricket Club occupied seventh position in 2017-18’s 10-team first division D standings, after two wins in seven attempts. They won the opening fixtures against Seacrest Cricket Club and the Cape University of Technology Cricket Club, but lost the next five to Peninsula Cricket Club, Belhar Cricket Club, Brooklyn Telkom Cricket Club, Mitchells Plain Cricket Club and Blue Downs Cricket Club.

According to the WPCA’s second draft of fixtures for the 2018-19 first division D, Khayelitsha Cricket Club’s first match will be against Brooklyn Telkom Cricket Club on 3 November.

Meanwhile, Langa Cricket Club are hiring a new head coach.

Langa Cricket Club were positioned last on the 2017-18 premier log, after losses to Milnerton Cricket Club, the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club, Claremont Cricket Club, Cape Town Cricket Club, Durbanville Cricket Club, Ottoman Cricket Club and Western Province Cricket Club.
