Former Titans coach Rob Walter was appointed ODI and T20I coach of the Proteas earlier this week.
Walter’s tenure will start on 1 February 2023.
He was head coach of the Titans in South Africa before relocating to New Zealand to work with Otago and later Central Districts.
“It is somewhat of a bittersweet time for me. I have loved my time with the Stags. The staff and players have been awesome to work with and have treated myself and my family amazingly well,” said Walter.
“However, on the other side is an opportunity to work on the international stage which in many ways is a dream come true for me.”
Former Cape Cobras head coach Shukri Conrad, meanwhile, has been named Test coach of the Proteas.
