All-rounder Nonelela Yikha has moved to Northern Cape ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
Yikha, who had moved from Border, was with Mpumalanga during the 2024-25 season and averaged 25 in the 4-Day Domestic Series, division two, and nine in the One-Day Cup, division two. He took three wickets across both formats.
Northern Cape have signed all-rounder Morne Venter and batsman Garnett Tarr from Limpopo and the Knights, respectively.
“I think this is the move I need and it’ll be the best thing for me. I know Northern Cape, but this time around it’ll be a very different experience for me – and for the better,” Tarr told OFM.
Northern Cape recently appointed new head coach Mduduzi Mbatha. He was assistant coach at the Dolphins.
Northern Cape have lost seamer Hardus Viljoen, who has returned to division one with the Tuskers. All-rounder Ernest Kemm and batsman Modiri Litheko have also left Northern Cape for Easterns and the Warriors, respectively.
