Spinner Odirile Modimokoane has returned to North West ahead of South Africa’s 2024-25 domestic season.

Modimokoane represented North West at age group level before moving to the Dolphins.

He has since been capped five times at first-class level and, late last year, played for South Africa A against India A.

“One of my goals has always been to get a lot of homegrown players back to the North West Dragons,” North West head coach Craig Alexander told Club Cricket SA.

“Odirile’s return fits right into the plan. He is a quality left-arm spinner and we are very happy to have him back.”

Malan and Jansen back at North West, too

Proteas cricketers Janneman Malan and Marco Jansen have also returned to North West. Malan and Jansen have left Boland and the Warriors, respectively.

“We are pleased to have Marco back with us. This is really good for the team and North West cricket as a whole,” North West chief executive officer Ismail Minty told Club Cricket SA.

“Marco’s return is ecstatic news for North West. He has grown to be a top all-rounder in international cricket and we know he is going to add plenty of value with his experience.

“He will play alongside his twin brother, Duan, at North West. His return and the other signings we have done recently bode well for the team in division one of South African domestic cricket.”

Batsman Matthew Kleinveldt and fast bowler Achille Cloete, too, have joined North West. Kleinveldt and Cloete were at the Titans and Boland, respectively.

All-rounder Senuran Muthusamy and batsman Lesego Senokwane have left North West.
