North West have appointed former Lions fast bowler Craig Alexander head coach ahead of South Africa’s 2022-23 domestic season.
Alexander has succeeded former North West head coach Monty Jacobs.
Outgoing North West Cricket chief executive officer HP Prinsloo confirmed the appointment to Club Cricket SA.
Alexander played for the Lions and Dolphins in franchise cricket – and Western Province, Boland, KwaZulu-Natal and North West at provincial level – before moving into coaching.
He was North West’s assistant coach during the 2021-22 season.
Former Easterns first-class cricketer Neil Levenson, meanwhile, has replaced Alexander as assistant coach.
North West compete in division one of South African domestic cricket.
