What Raubenheimer said

“As a proud member of NGCC, I’ve been given the opportunity to captain a very strong and exciting group of gentlemen for the upcoming season,” Raubenheimer told Club Cricket SA.

“I have been part of the club since birth. My dad was a member and after him my brother and then myself. It is an absolute honour to continue this legacy at the club I call home.

“Growing up, as a young 15-year-old playing my first season in the first XI as a top-order batsman with the likes of Derek Brand, Werner Moolman and Marcel le Roux, I have learnt a great deal from those in this role before me.

Sadly, Quewin is not available for captaincy, but I am really excited for the challenge and the opportunity to lead by example and make those who took the field as captain at NGCC before me proud.

“In partnership with our coaches Reagan Siljeur and Chad Hannival, our goal will be to play competitive but respectful cricket – and groom the future cricketers that will take the field and eventually continue with the legacy that has been built.”
