What Old Edwardians Cricket Club head coach Brandon Buckley said

“The quality was evident in the way in which the match swayed in both directions throughout. This was our fourth final in as many years and the pressure was on as our team has changed significantly since 2021 and we find ourselves in a rebuilding phase,” said Buckley.

“It was an honour to play at the Wanderers and a big thank you to Lions Cricket for affording us the opportunity. We look forward to representing Lions Cricket in the play-off final against the winning North West-based club and hopefully on to the national T20 Community Cup from there.”

What Lions Cricket cricket services manager Reuben Mandlazi said

“The competition is growing in leaps and bounds with great talent arising year on year – and what a treat it was for such talent to be on display at the ever-impressive Wanderers,” added Mandlazi.

Club cricket remains key to producing quality winning teams and ensuring the sustainability of our game. It is through such competitions as this that we will be able to field the best team possible come first class level.”
