Proteas seamer Ottniel Baartman and all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo have been ruled out of the remainder of this month’s ODI series against India.
Baartman and Phehlukwayo have been sidelined by respective right and left side strains.
Left-arm seamer Beuran Hendricks, meanwhile, has been added to the squad.
“Fast bowler Ottniel Baartman and all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo have been ruled out of the remainder of the three-match ODI series against India due to injury,” read a statement from Cricket South Africa.
“Baartman sustained a right side strain at training, while Phehlukwayo suffered a left side strain during the first ODI on Sunday.
“Western Province fast bowler Beuran Hendricks has been added to the squad.”
India lead the three-ODI series one-nil after victory at the Wanderers in Johannesburg last week.
The second ODI will be played at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday. The third ODI will be hosted by Boland Park in Paarl on Thursday.
South Africa and India will start a two-Test series later this month.
They completed a win each and shared a washout in the T20I series earlier this month.
