Ottoman Cricket Club’s return to the Western Province Cricket Association premier league has effectively been confirmed after ending the 2023-24 first division A in second position.
Ottoman Cricket Club captain Mujaahid Toffar is the leading run-scorer in this season’s WPCA first division A overall. He has collected 939 runs in 21 innings at an average of 59.
Seamer Zubair Safodien is Ottoman Cricket Club’s top wicket-taker in this season’s first division A. He has taken 36 wickets in 18 matches at an average of 11.
Brackenfell Cricket Club return to WPCA premier league, too
Brackenfell Cricket Club, who topped this season’s first division A points table, will also likely be promoted to the 2024-25 WPCA premier league.
The WPCA have not formally confirmed Brackenfell Cricket Club and Ottoman Cricket Club’s promotions yet. They will likely do this after this week’s final round of first division A fixtures – or after the members’ council meeting later this year, when other league titles, promotions, relegations and other placements are ratified as well.
Brackenfell Cricket Club and Ottoman Cricket Club were in the 2022-23 WPCA premier league before being relegated to the 2023-24 first division A.
