The 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association premier league witnessed two sets of twin centurions last week.
Claremont Cricket Club now have the most centurions – three – in this season’s WPCA premier league.
Western Province Cricket Club and Ottoman Cricket Club have two each. Durbanville Cricket Club, Rylands Cricket Club, Rondebosch Cricket Club and Brackenfell Cricket Club have one each.
Ottoman Cricket Club v Green Point Cricket Club – Behardien and Salie
Openers Taariq Behardien and Raees Salie scored 118 and 112, respectively, in Ottoman Cricket Club’s 98-run victory over Green Point Cricket Club.
Behardien and Salie shared a 224-run partnership – and shared 20 fours and five sixes – at Ottoman Cricket Club.
Behardien moved to fifth position among the 2022-23 WPCA premier league’s top run-scorers. He is flanked by Durbanville Cricket Club’s Fritz de Beer and Green Point Cricket Club’s Zac Elkin in fourth and sixth position, respectively, according to WebSports.
Claremont Cricket Club v Kraaifontein Cricket Club – Smith and Came
Opener Daniel Smith and overseas professional Harry Came struck 160 and 115, respectively, in Claremont Cricket Club’s 160-run win over Kraaifontein Cricket Club.
Smith and Came shared a 214-run partnership at Claremont Cricket Club. Smith had earlier shared a 137-run stand with fellow opener Zaheer Lorgat.
Came will soon return to the United Kingdom and be replaced by fellow overseas professional Harry Finch at Claremont Cricket Club.
