Ottoman Cricket Club beat Claremont Cricket Club in Saturday, 17 January 2026’s Western Province Cricket Association premier league fixture.
Ottoman Cricket Club remain in the bottom third of the this season’s 12-team WPCA premier league points table. Victoria Cricket Club, Cape Town Cricket Club and Rylands Cricket Club are also in the bottom third.
“It’s not the position we want to be in, but this season has had its ups and downs,” the Southern Suburbs Tatler quoted Ottoman Cricket Club player-coach Taariq Behardien as saying.
“We’ve fought hard to get promoted and now we have to fight just as hard to stay in the premier league. But I remain optimistic.”
Batsmen Isma-eel Prince and Mujaahid Toffar have been among Ottoman Cricket Club’s leading run-scorers this WPCA premier league season. Bowlers Taahir Fredericks and Sohail Imran are among their top wicket-takers.
Ottoman Cricket Club will play Rylands Cricket Club and Western Province Cricket Club on 24 and 25 January, respectively.
