The Paarl Royals have signed West Indies all-rounder Fabian Allen for the second edition of the SA20.
Allen has played 20 ODIs and 34 T20Is – and recently reached the play-off stage of the Caribbean Premier League with the Jamaica Tallawahs.
“Fabian is an all-round talent who offers us depth in both batting and bowling, and is a livewire in the field,” said Royals director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara.
“He is someone who has played in a lot of T20 competitions around the world, and we are pleased to have him in the squad given the flexibility he brings to this team.”
The Royals retained England captain Jos Buttler earlier this year – and West Indies fast bowler Obed McCoy.
The remainder of Paarl’s squad will be completed at this week’s SA20 player auction in Johannesburg.
The second edition of the SA20 will be played in early 2024. Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the reigning champions. They beat the Pretoria Capitals in 2023’s inaugural final.
