Afghanistan spinner Waqar Salamkheil has joined the Paarl Royals in season four of the SA20.
Salamkheil, who previously played for MI Cape Town in the SA20, has replaced Sri Lanka seamer Eshan Malinga in the Royals’ squad.
Salamkheil has experience in multiple T20 tournaments around the world, including the Caribbean Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, Big Bash League in Australia and Major League Cricket in the United States of America.
The Royals currently occupy fourth position on this season’s SA20 points table. They have won three and lost two matches.
MI Cape Town are the reigning SA20 champions. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the most successful team in the history of the tournament with two titles.
