Pretoria Capitals batsman Shane Dadswell has been recruited by the Lahore Qalandars for this year’s Pakistan Super League.
Dadswell, who has scored 62 runs in five innings for the Capitals in the ongoing SA20, was drafted by the Qalandars earlier this week as a replacement for England batsman Harry Brook.
He has played for the Lahore Qalanders previously, but not in the Pakistan Super League. Dadswell was with the Qalanders for last year’s Namibia Global T20 tournament.
Dadswell entered Australia’s Big Bash League draft last year, but was not signed by a team.
The 25-year-old played franchise cricket for the Lions before being contracted by Easterns in division two of South African domestic competition.
He gained notoriety in November 2017, after scoring 490 in a limited-overs club cricket fixture.
“You dream about a double-ton, so to get 400-odd is a really special moment on a special day. It’s phenomenal, the best day of my life,” he said at the time.
“There’s certainly an attacking nature inside me. It would be amazing to play cricket for a living.”
