The Peninsula Patriots have announced four players retained for the next edition of the Cape Premier League (CPL).
CPL rules allow for a maximum of six players to be retained, but the Patriots opted for just four this time.
The Patriots’ retained group includes Kraaifontein Cricket Club duo Ishmail September and Craig Ephraim – and Kuils River Cricket Club batsman Rodney Mupfudza.
“We’re very excited to officially announce our retained players for the Patriots senior men’s team’s 2022 season,” read a statement from the team.
“Head coach George Plowman will be a very busy man as the people’s team look to make full use of their massive budget at the upcoming player auction.”
The auction will again operate on CPL dollars – the tournament’s fictional currency.
