The Peninsula Patriots have recruited former Cape Cobras spinners Nkululeko Serame and Siya Simetu for the 2021 Cape Premier League.
Kraaifontein Cricket Club batsmen Craig Ephraim and Darryl Losper are also among the Patriots’ initial recruits.
Spinner Yves Kamanzi and seamer Dion Mazhawidza conclude the franchise’s first six signings. The remainder of the squad will be completed after Friday, 30 July 2021’s player auction at Newlands in Cape Town.
Batsman Brent Johnson has also joined the Patriots. He has transferred from the Devil’s Peak Dragons (formerly Dromedaris Dragons) for 800,000 CPL dollars – the fictional currency used by the tournament.
The Patriots are new to the CPL, which has grown from six to eight teams. The West Coast Outlaws are the other addition.
