Batsman Thaakier Davids has joined Pinelands Cricket Club for the 2024-25 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.
Davids previously played for Rylands Cricket Club in the WPCA premier league.
“Thaakier is an extremely talented cricketer and he is another young player in the mix for our squad. We look forward to big contributions from him,” Pinelands Cricket Club head coach Muneer Holmes told Club Cricket SA.
“He gained some valuable experience at Rylands Cricket Club. I think he will be a good fit for our young, talented team.”
Holmes also confirmed the recruitment of seamer Davin May from Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club.
“Davin is a left-arm seamer, which will add variety to our bowling attack. He bowls with great pace and control. We are really excited about these two additions to our squad.”
Last month, Pinelands appointed all-rounder Jordan Woolf captain. He has succeeded former captain Barry Maart.
“We back Jordan entirely and believe he will do a fantastic job. We are looking forward to him expressing his leadership in his own way. We are excited for a new era under Jordan,” added Holmes.
Pinelands Cricket Club ended the 2023-24 WPCA first division A in sixth position. They won 12 and lost 10 matches.
