Pinelands Cricket Club have recruited batsman Matthew Mingo from the University of Cape Town Cricket Club ahead of the 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.
Mingo was UCT Cricket Club’s second-highest run-scorer during the 2022-23 WPCA first division A. He collected 425 runs in 13 innings at an average of 42.5, according to WebSports.
Mingo’s tally included a top score of 133 not out against Gugulethu Cricket Club.
Pinelands Cricket Club ended the 2022-23 first division A in sixth position after 11 wins, eight losses and three no-results. They were flanked by fifth-placed Tygerberg Cricket Club and seventh-placed UCT Cricket Club.
