Pirates Cricket Club have signed duo Matt Erasmus and Maro Hartkopf for the 2023-24 Lions Cricket premier league A.
Erasmus and Hartkopf have joined Pirates Cricket Club from Stellenbosch University Cricket Club (Maties) and Heidelberg Cricket Club, respectively.
“We are really excited to have Matt at Pirates and it is already evident that he fits right into the culture that we place so much value on at Pirates across the entire club,” said Pirates Cricket Club director of cricket Chad Roberts.
“Maro has excelled in junior cricket, previously gaining selection to the Lions Under-15 squad on the back of outstanding performances with both bat and ball.
“We are thrilled to welcome Maro to Pirates and look forward to playing a key role in his development into an accomplished senior cricketer.”
Pirates Cricket Club won the 2022-23 Lions Cricket premier league B title to be promoted to this season’s premier league A.
“As the club looks to grow on the successes of last season, young players like Maro and Matt are an important part of the club’s growth plan,” added Roberts.
