The International Cricket Council have cleared Proteas spinner Prenelan Subrayen to bowl in Test, ODI and T20I cricket again.

Subrayen had been reported for an illegal bowling action during last month’s ODI series against Australia – and has not played international cricket since.

“Subrayen underwent an independent bowling assessment at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane on 26 August, where it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension for all his deliveries was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC illegal bowling regulations,” read a statement from the ICC.

“With his action deemed legal, Subrayen can continue to bowl in international cricket.”

Whether the Proteas will select for this year’s Test series in Pakistan and India remains in the balance.
