The Pretoria Capitals have appointed spinner Keshav Maharaj captain for season four of the SA20.
Batsman Rilee Rossouw and wicketkeeper-batsman Kyle Verreynne captained the Pretoria Capitals during season three of the SA20.
“We are pleased to confirm that Keshav Maharaj has been appointed as the captain for the upcoming SA20 season,” read Friday’s statement from the Pretoria Capitals.
“One of South Africa’s most experienced and respected leaders, Maharaj brings a wealth of international pedigree across formats, along with a proven track record of guiding teams with composure, clarity and intent.
Maharaj previously captained Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20.
“Having captained South Africa in white-ball cricket and served as a senior figure within the national set-up for several years, Maharaj’s leadership experience, tactical understanding and consistency make him an invaluable addition in this role,” added the Capitals.
“His presence strengthens the balance and direction of the Pretoria Capitals squad as the team heads into the new season.”
Season four of the SA20 is scheduled to start on 26 December 2025. MI Cape Town are the reigning SA20 champions. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the most successful team in the history of the tournament with two titles.
