The Pretoria Capitals have appointed new head coach Sourav Ganguly in the SA20.
Ganguly has succeeded former Pretoria Capitals head coach Jonathan Trott, who has since joined the Gulf Giants in the International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates.
“We are ecstatic to announce Sourav Ganguly as our new head coach,” read a statement from the Capitals on social media.
Trott was with the Capitals for one season of the SA20. They ended that season in second-last position.
“Forever grateful for your leadership and unwavering dedication to the team. All the best on your next adventure. Once a Capital, always a Capital,” added the Capitals.
The Capitals recently signed West Indies duo Andre Russell and Sherfane Rutherford. They also have England all-rounder Will Jacks.
The player auction for this edition of the SA20 will happen in Johannesburg on 9 September.
MI Cape Town are the reigning SA20 champions. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the most successful team in the history of the tournament with two titles.
