All-rounder Tom Rogers has joined the Pretoria Capitals for the remainder of this year’s SA20.
Rogers was with the Melbourne Renegades in Australia’s Big Bash League before arriving in South Africa.
He has replaced former captain and all-rounder Wayne Parnell in the Pretoria Capitals’ squad.
Parnell did not play a match in the 2025 SA20. He has not played a professional T20 fixture since April 2024.
Earlier this year, the Pretoria Capitals transferred the captaincy from Parnell to batsman Rilee Rossouw.
“Wayne will unfortunately not be part of the remainder of this season’s SA20,” read a statement from the Capitals.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude for his invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to the team, both on and off the field. Your impact has been truly special, Wayne. Wishing you the very best in your future endeavours.”
The Capitals currently occupy fifth position in the six-team SA20 standings. The Paarl Royals are currently in first position.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the reigning SA20 champions.
