England seamer Craig Overton has withdrawn from the Pretoria Capitals’ squad for season four of the SA20.
Overton represented the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 before moving to the Pretoria Capitals ahead of season four.
“An untimely injury rules Craig Overton out of the upcoming SA20 season. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Well see you back stronger, Craig,” read a statement from the Capitals.
“Tymal Mills joins us as the replacement for Craig. A true T20 artist, we can’t wait to see those scorching yorkers and clever changes of pace.”
The Capitals, who have also lost England fast bowler Saqib Mahmood to injury, will be captained by Proteas spinner Keshav Maharaj this season.
They have several other overseas players in the squad, including West Indies duo Shai Hope and Andre Russell – and England pair Jordan Cox and Will Smeed.
The Sunrisers are the most successful team in the history of the SA20 with two titles. Season four of the SA20 is scheduled to start on 26 December 2025. MI Cape Town are the reigning champions.
