Old Edwardians Cricket Club Veterans will play Glenvista Cricket Club Veterans at Wanderers Cricket Club.
Boksburg Cricket Club Veterans will play Benoni Northerns Cricket Club Veterans at Bedfordview Cricket Club.
The T20 fixtures will feature several Lions Over-40 and East Rand Over-40 players who competed in the recent inter-provincial tournament in Johannesburg. Players selected for the South Africa Over-40 squad will also feature.
Two of the four teams will advance to the final on 24 June 2023 at Wanderers Cricket Club.
The winner of the final will represent Lions Veterans Cricket at the Veterans Cricket of South Africa club championship in September 2023.
First semi-final: Old Edwardians Cricket Club Veterans v Glenvista Cricket Club Veterans
Old Edwardians Cricket Club Veterans have South Africa Over-40 vice-captain Warren Dugmore. He was the leading run-scorer at the recent inter-provincial tournament and collected two of the top five scores – 118 and 92.

Lions Over-40 quartet Brandon Buckley, Werner Pretorius, Matthew Harris and Craig van Dyk are also with Old Edwardians Cricket Club Veterans.
Old Edwardians Cricket Club Veterans, too, have former Test cricketer Zander de Bruyn – and South Africa Over-50 duo Brad White and Craig Lyon. White and Lyon umpired and convened selection, respectively, during the recent inter-provincial tournament.
Glenvista Cricket Club Veterans have former Proteas duo Alviro Petersen and Garnett Kruger. Petersen was selected for Lions Over-40 earlier this year, but withdrew from the squad shortly before the start of May’s inter-provincial tournament. Kruger played in the tournament, as Lions Over-40 finished in third position.
Glenvista Cricket Club Veterans, too, have former Easterns first-class cricketers Gareth Flusk, Anthony Pollock and Renato Almeida. Flusk was with Lions Over-40 recently.

Second semi-final: Boksburg Cricket Club Veterans v Benoni Northerns Cricket Club Veterans
Boksburg Cricket Club Veterans are undefeated in this season’s Lions Veterans Cricket league. They have spinner Thys Neethling, who took a hat-trick during the recent inter-provincial tournament, and Lions Over-40 team-mates Akhter Rasul, Johan Fourie and Nico de Klerk. Fourie has been selected for South Africa Over-40.

Boksburg Cricket Club, too, have seamer Erich Cassel. He is the leading wicket-taker in the 2022-23 Lions Veterans Cricket League.
Benoni Northerns have several players who reached the recent inter-provincial tournament final with East Rand Over-40. These include former Dolphins batsman Kyle Smit and batsman Andre Steyn, who captained East Rand Over-40 and will captain Benoni Northerns Veterans again.
Smith was the second-highest run-scorer at the inter-provincial tournament – and has recovered from the injury sustained in the final against eventual champions Western Province Over-40.
