Primrose Cricket Club have appointed former franchise batsman Qaasim Adams first XI head coach ahead of the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.
Primrose Cricket Club did not have a dedicated first XI coach during the 2021-22 WPCA season. Instead, a three-man coaching contingent comprised Adams, Mishal Isaacs and Achmat Brown.
Adams has since been elevated to head coach and Brown assistant for the 2022-23 season.
Primrose Cricket Club’s 2021-22 first division A campaign yielded a fifth-place finish in the 12-team standings. They won 12 and lost eight fixtures.
Adams previously coached United Cricket Club before moving to Primrose Cricket Club.
He is involved with the Hoeri Kwaggo Bulls in the Cape Premier League, too.
The 38-year-old left-hander was an accomplished batsman at franchise level – and represented the Cape Cobras, Titans, Warriors and Lions.
Most recently, he played for Northern Cape during South Africa’s domestic 2021-22 season.
