Fast bowler Josh Savage has left Primrose Cricket Club for Ottoman Cricket Club, ahead of the 2017-18 Western Province Cricket Association premier league season.

Savage spearheaded Primrose Cricket Club’s seam attack during a plighted 2016-17 premier league campaign, which resulted in relegation to the first division A.

Ottoman Cricket Club, meanwhile, are determined to improve on a 2016-17 premier league performance that brought just two wins in nine attempts – and recently appointed former first-class batsman Hassan Pangarker as head coach.

They will open their 2017-18 premier league campaign against newcomers on Brackenfell Cricket Club on 21 and 28 October, which will be followed by a key away fixture against premier league returnees Victoria Cricket Club.

Primrose Cricket Club have also lost all-rounder Siya Sibiya to Langa Cricket Club and wicketkeeper-batsman Zahid Allie to Rylands Cricket Club. Fast bowler Moylisi Fumba and batsman Tristan de Beer have left, too.
