Primrose Cricket Club name new WPCA first division A captain

Primrose Cricket Club have appointed wicketkeeper-batsman Qaasim Salie captain ahead of the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association season.

Salie has succeeded former Primrose Cricket Club captain Ahmad Magiet, who has retired from playing.

Batsman Josh Schippers has been named Salie’s vice-captain.

Former franchise cricketer Qaasim Adams is Primrose Cricket Club’s head coach.

Primrose Cricket Club will compete in the 2022-23 WPCA first division A.

Their 2021-22 first division A campaign yielded a fifth-place finish in the 12-team standings. They won 12 and lost eight fixtures.

Adams won the Player of the Year and Batsman of the Year trophies.

Spinner David Schierhout was named Bowler of the Year.
