Spin bowler David Schierhout has opted to stay at Primrose Cricket Club, amid the departures of several other senior players ahead of the 2017-18 Western Province Cricket Association first division A season.
Schierhout was contemplating a move to Durbanville Cricket Club, but has decided to remain at the Kenilworth-based club, which has lost seamers Myolisi Fumba, Josh Savage and Josh Fransman to Rondebosch Cricket Club, Ottoman Cricket Club and Milnerton Cricket Club, respectively.
All-rounder Siya Sibiya, meanwhile, has left for Langa Cricket Club, wicketkeeper-batsman Zahid Allie joined Rylands Cricket Club and batsman Tristan de Beer gone to Cape Town Cricket Club.
Fumba, Savage, Fransman, Sibiya, Allie and de Beer effectively departed after Primrose Cricket Club were relegated from the premier league at the end of a plighted 2016-17 campaign.
Their opening first division A fixture will be against Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club on 21 and 28 October, followed by another challenging away match against Avendale Cricket Club. Their first home game will be against United Cricket Club.
